Choose the route before counting days
The issuing country needs to fit your first entry into the participating region. An arrival in Entebbe and an arrival in Kigali lead to different application routes. A fast-looking website is not a reason to choose the wrong issuer.
Read the current application category and confirm the earliest sensible submission date with the authority. Processing time and the validity of an issued permission are different clocks; applying arbitrarily early can create a validity problem.
If your application is still pending
Uganda’s embassy describes an approval letter sent electronically after approval. It serves as travel authorisation and must be presented with the passport; admission remains subject to immigration checks. Do not treat a submitted form or a reference number as that approval.
- Keep the application reference from the official channel where you submitted.
- Check the official portal and the email address used in the application, including messages requesting more evidence.
- Resolve any document or payment request through the original channel. A payment receipt alone does not establish approval.
- If departure is close, contact the issuing authority with the reference privately. Ask what to do before submitting or paying again.
Build a preparation buffer into the itinerary
Check passport spelling and validity, the first arrival, onward travel and the actual upload specifications before submitting. If an officer requests more information, the original timing indication may no longer describe your case.
