Three examples to discuss before departure
| Itinerary | First question | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Entebbe → Kigali → Nairobi | Does the Uganda-first regional route fit this traveller? | Check the selected category, attachments and conditions with Uganda Immigration. |
| Kigali → Kampala → Nairobi | Does the Rwanda-first regional route fit this traveller? | Confirm the regional category in IremboGov; first entry must fit the issuing route. |
| Nairobi → Kampala → Kigali | Which Kenya permission or exemption applies? | The Kenya regional eTA is marked coming soon. Check onward Uganda and Rwanda permissions separately. |
These examples do not decide passport eligibility. A US or UK departure point is not a substitute for checking the traveller’s actual passport and circumstances.
Build a checklist that can travel with the itinerary
- Open the route checker and choose the first immigration entry, destinations and any outside-area stop.
- Generate the preparation result, then use its share link or PDF download.
- Keep the link free of traveller names, emails, passport numbers and booking references.
- Recheck current authority instructions before submission and again when the itinerary changes.
Four questions a safari quote should answer
- Where does the traveller first pass immigration, including a connection that involves entering a country?
- Does a Tanzania or Zanzibar stop take the trip outside the three-country arrangement?
- Which costs are government entry fees, assistance charges, park/gorilla permits and travel bookings?
- Which reference belongs to immigration, and which belongs to a booking or assistance enquiry?
For an outside stop and return, official wording is not fully consistent. Obtain written guidance from the issuing authority for the actual document; do not rely on “multiple entry” alone.
